PerlSwitches -I/etc/netdot/lib

The instructions on that web site tell you to use "PREFIX=/usr/local/netdot". It seems that you used "/etc/netdot" instead. That _should_ not be a problem, but it's it's not a common place to install applications.

The error you pasted suggests that there's a problem loading the Zone class. Try this command (assuming you keep the PREFIX you used):

<pre>
perl -I/etc/netdot/lib -MNetdot::Model::Zone -e 1;
</pre>

and let me know if that gives more information.

Without changing anything in _/etc/httpd/conf.d/netdot.conf_, I can run the command that you suggested without any error. However, I still got the same error massage when I do start Apache. Please attached screen.

As I reinstalled with PREFIX as _"/usr/local/netdot"_. Unfortunately, I still got same error message when restart Apache as below :

Issue #1880 has been updated by Charles Atkinson.


We had almost identical symptoms after installing 1.0.7 on Debian 8 Jessie without sufficient memory. The clue was OOM killer messages in /var/log/syslog. Increasing the memory (from 512 MB to 2 GB) and re-installing from scratch fixed the problem.

Comment #8 is wrong, sorry. "systemctl start apache2.service" generated no errors only because there were no perl modules in /etc/apache2/mods-available, caused by faulty re-initialization for re-installing from scratch.

Experiencing a similar issue.
* Ubuntu 16.04 LTS
* Netdot 1.0.7 from http://netdot.uoregon.edu/pub/dists/netdot-1.0.7.tar.gz
* followed this guide http://evilttl.com/wiki/Netdot-Installation-on-Ubuntu and netdot pdf manual from git concurrently.

* sudo make installdeps (found em all)
* make installdb
[...]
[...]
refuses to restart.
* after a reboot apache does not come up.

Any ideas ?

Looks exactly like Bug #1904. Seems to be a problem with 16.04, running fine on 14.04 LTS with Netdot 1.0.7, on 16.04 I experience the same problem.
